Kate’s focus lies mainly in the areas of commercial, corporate and contract law. Kate has a broadly based transactional practice and has acted in numerous mergers and acquisitions projects. She advises on issues arising during the negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts as well as company establishment and structuring, ongoing corporate governance and assisting clients in issues arising in the day to day running of their business. Kate has a broad corporate and commercial practice, capturing the negotiation, execution and enforcement of all types of commercial agreements. She also specializes in advising on the regulatory framework governing several types of industries. Her extensive litigation and enforcement experience places Kate in an ideal position to advise on risk management when structuring companies and commercial relationships.
She is also a dedicated expert in the field of banking, capital markets and insolvent restructurings. Her finance practice includes advising clients, mainly banks, on their entry into syndicated loans, bond loans and restructurings, including voluntary and Article 99 processes. During the last years she has focused her practice in advising clients (credit institutions, funds and distressed companies) on insolvency restructurings as well as on the sale and purchase of loan portfolios. She has extensive experience in pre-pack restructuring agreements, bankruptcy processes and extrajudicial loan renegotiation.
She has considerable experience in tender offers, rights issues and merger and acquisition transactions, with a focus on listed companies. Kate also capitalises on the experience she gained as an in-house lawyer at listed companies for several years.
Kate also has a litigation practice, representing clients in debt recovery proceedings, breach of contract, shareholder and succession disputes.
